B-Factors
B-factors are temperature factors assigned to building elements. The web app shows them as adjacency options with a numeric value and a short boundary description.
Setting b-factors
Section titled “Setting b-factors”For Individual Elements:
- Select element in 3D viewer or element list
- Properties panel displays on right
- Locate B-factor field
- Click dropdown
- Select the matching adjacency option
- Value is applied immediately
For Multiple Elements:
- Enable multi-select mode
- Use the list checkboxes to choose elements, or use Select all
- Bulk editing toolbar appears at top
- Click B-Factor button
- Select value from dropdown
- Value applies to all selected elements
B-factor values
Section titled “B-factor values”Available options depend on the element type. Common options include:
- 1.0 - Against external air
- 0.7 - Against unheated room
- 0.7 - Ground floor slab and basement floor
- 0.0 - Not applicable
Viewing b-factors
Section titled “Viewing b-factors”In Properties Panel:
- Select element
- B-factor field displays current value
In Element Lists:
- B-factor appears as a badge on elements that show adjacency data
- Element groups are listed by type and sorted by name
In 3D Viewer:
- May display color coding based on B-factor value
- Check visualization mode settings
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”B-factor dropdown not appearing
- Check element is selected
- Verify properties panel is open
- Refresh page
Can’t change B-factor
- Confirm the element type supports the selected adjacency
- Try refreshing page
B-factor not saving
- Check internet connection
- Value selected from the dropdown
- Try setting value again
