Electric Notes in Web
Electric notes document electrical safety concerns and conditions observed during field inspections. These notes sync to the web interface as Electric notes.
About electric notes in Web
Section titled “About electric notes in Web”The web application shows electric notes from the project and lets you review or update their details.
What you can do:
- View synced electric notes in the notes pane or task pane
- See note descriptions and attached photos
- Open the note details pane
- Update electric note fields and completion status
What you cannot do:
- Capture new electric-note photos in Web
- Filter or search notes (not available in web)
Viewing electric notes
Section titled “Viewing electric notes”Electric notes appear in the web interface after the project has synced from iOS.
Location
Section titled “Location”Related notes can display near material selection, while electric note details open in the notes pane or task pane:
- Open the project in Web
- Open Tasks or select a note from a notes list
- Click an electric note to open its details
- Review or update the fields in the pane
Note display
Section titled “Note display”Each note shows:
- Photo thumbnail (if photos were captured in iOS)
- Note name (brief description of the electrical concern)
- Description (detailed observation text)
Clicking on notes
Section titled “Clicking on notes”Click on a note to view details in the notes pane or task pane. This shows:
- Complete description
- Full-size photos of electrical concerns
- Location badges such as story, room, or outside
- Is something wrong? status
- Assessment and Category fields when an issue is marked
- What is wrong? details
Electrical severity levels
Section titled “Electrical severity levels”Electric notes use a severity system to categorize observations. You can review and update these fields in the Web note details pane.
Risk of shock
Observations marked with this severity level.
Risk of fire
Section titled “”Observations marked with this severity level.
Illegal installation
Section titled “”Observations marked with this severity level.
Needs further investigation
Section titled “”Observations marked for further assessment or review.
Note categories
Section titled “Note categories”Electric notes are separate from building-element notes and material notes. The Web details view handles Electric, Building element, and Material as distinct note categories.
Working with notes in Web
Section titled “Working with notes in Web”When notes appear
Section titled “When notes appear”Notes are context-sensitive and appear automatically:
- Task list: Open Tasks to review note-backed tasks
- Notes list: Select a note to open its details
- Material selection: Material and building-element notes can appear near the material field
- Details pane: Electric notes show their editable electric fields in the pane
Reviewing note details
Section titled “Reviewing note details”To see complete note information:
- Click on any note in the list
- Note details open in the notes pane or task pane
- Review all photos and descriptions
- Review or update the electric fields
- Use the pane navigation to return to your work
Electric notes and material assignment
Section titled “Electric notes and material assignment”Material selection can show material or building-element notes:
- Select element
- Review any related material or building-element notes shown near material selection
- Assign or change material
- Open electric notes from the notes pane or task pane when you need their electrical assessment fields
Limitations
Section titled “Limitations”The web interface can update existing electric note details, but field capture still starts in the iOS app:
To create new electric notes:
- Use the iOS app during field inspections
- Capture photos of electrical concerns
- Document issues and safety concerns
- Assign severity levels
- Upload project to sync to web
To organize or manage notes:
- iOS app provides full note management
- Web interface is for review and updates to synced note details
Viewing electric notes
Section titled “Viewing electric notes”To view electric notes in the web interface:
- Open Tasks or the notes list
- Select an electric note
- Read note descriptions
- View photos
- Review or update the electric assessment fields
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”Notes not appearing
- Notes must be created in iOS first
- Project must be uploaded to web
- Confirm you are looking in the notes pane or task list for electric notes
- Refresh page if recently uploaded
Can’t expand notes
- Look for “Show notes (X)” text near material field
- This material-field expander is for material or building-element notes
- Use the notes pane or task list for electric notes
Photos not loading
- Photos are uploaded with the project from iOS
- Check internet connection
- Refresh the page
- Contact support if photos are missing
Want to edit notes
- Open the note in the Web notes pane or task pane
- Update the editable fields
- Use Mark complete or Mark incomplete to change completion status
Need to add new observations
- Use iOS app to capture new electric notes
- Document electrical concerns during field work
- Assign appropriate severity level
- Upload to sync to web
